Subject: Proposal for Infrastructure Development and Policy Revision for benefit districts. 

 Dear Deputy Mayor & Molly Howey  

I am writing to bring to your attention a crucial matter that warrants immediate consideration – the development of a new sewer line on Rochester Road. The potential benefits of this infrastructure project extend far beyond its immediate scope, as it has the capacity to pave the way for the creation of 62 new houses within the proposed subdivisions.  

The current situation in Laurens Bay, particularly the longstanding issue of ten years' worth of back taxes, demands our focused attention. It is disheartening to observe the City Council's allocation of resources to repair lakes on land that has not contributed its fair share in taxes for half a decade. This calls for a strategic reallocation of priorities, with a primary focus on addressing critical infrastructural needs that directly contribute to the growth and prosperity of our community.  

I bring to your attention a specific property situated in your district, just north of Walmart and Dillons, which holds immense potential for infill housing. The current owner appears to have lost the drive and spirit to develop this land, presenting an opportunity for a new, vibrant development. As a committed developer, I am prepared to take on this project, envisioning a community of single-family houses that would undoubtedly enhance the appeal and functionality of the area. 

 

  

To achieve this vision, I am seeking your support for the extension of the sewer line to accommodate the proposed subdivisions. This vital infrastructure improvement is the linchpin for the successful realization of the project. Moreover, I propose a comprehensive review and revision of the existing policies governing developers running sewer lines across public lands. It is imperative that these policies reflect fairness, equity, and align with the evolving needs of our community.
